This I Thought was True
Shaving Hair Makes It Grow Back Thicker

Shaving hair makes it grow back thicker. This I thought was true. Many girls believe that shaving body hair makes it grow back thicker. This is a very common misconception. The correct statement should be: shaving hair makes the new growth more noticeable. Take a girl’s arm hair for example: when it grows out, it is at its thickest. As time goes by, it becomes longer and thinner at the end due to friction until it breaks or falls off. If left untouched, it will remain relatively the same length because longer hairs are weaker and fall off easier. However, once she shaves it off, the hair will grow out again at its thickest, giving the appearance that it grew back “thicker” than before. Since new hair stands up because it is too short to bend, it gives the appearance that it is harder. It is easier to notice the difference between 0 and 1 than 10 and 11.
